Parkland Post - Friday 19th September

Welcome to this week's Parkland Post! It has been such a busy week with so much learning going on in each year group. I love walking into each classroom and hearing all about the work that your children have been completing - the enthusiasm for learning is a joy to see! This week, Mrs Shirra and I have interviewed and appointed our Wellbeing Ambassadors, Library Monitors and Co-op Young Leaders for the year. Keep your eyes peeled for their photographs appearing on our 'Leaders' display boards on our main corridor along with their reasons why they wanted to become one of our Pupil Leaders.
Next week, we will be sending home a calendar of events for the year ahead so you can see when we will be holding our fundraising days, discos, parent events, class assemblies etc.
Team Rubicon Skateboard and Scooter Day
On Tuesday, we were fortunate to have a full day with Dom from Team Rubicon who ran a skateboard and scooter day for our classes in Years 1 to 6. Once the children were equipped with elbow and knee pads and helmets, they began learning all about how to control the scooters and skateboards and practised lots of skills.
Attendance Matters
This week, our whole school attendance was low at 91.1% and with your help, I would love for us to meet our target of 96% next week. Our winning class was Year 4 who were so close to our target of 96% but just missed out on an extra playtime (try again next week!) and they won some new stationery on our Attendance Wheel!

I am going to be having a meal out with my family and Mrs Shirra is going out for lunch with friends. Whatever you decide to do, we hope you have lots of fun doing it. We will see you bright and early on Monday morning - our doors open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am. Let's try to have a perfect week of attendance so we can smash our target of 96%!
