Welcome to this week's Parkland Post!

What a fantastic first week back after the holidays we have had!  The second half term of autumn is always action packed and this year is no exception.  We have a BIG Family Breakfast, Parents' Evenings, Children in Need Day, Nativity performances, KS2 Carol Concert, Winter Fair and so much more.  Not only all of those things, we have the most amazing teaching and learning happening in our academy.  This week, our clubs kicked off in style, and we have had Talk Money Week.  Keep checking our Key Events document for all the dates you need over the next six weeks (we will be sending an updated version out on Tuesday).  Please make sure you are all signed up to Arbor and Class Dojo as these are the two main ways we communicate with our families.

**Don't forget that Monday is a Training Day**

New appointments

I am thrilled to be able to announce that this week, we have appointed a Deputy Headteacher and an Assistant Headteacher and the best thing is that you already know them!  Our new Deputy Headteacher is Mrs Shirra (who is also our SENDCo) and our new Assistant Headteacher is Miss Tindall (our Year 6 teacher).  I am sure you will accompany me in sending your congratulations next time you see them!

Mrs Shirra leads on many areas across the academy.  She is our SENDCo, she leads English, Careers Related Learning and mentors our Early Career Teachers across the academy amongst lots of other things (she likes to wear lots of hats!).

Miss Tindall is our amazing Year 6 teacher who leads Maths and Science across the academy.  She also loves data and making sure our pupils have the best opportunities at Parkland.

We have also welcomed Mr Towriss in Year 3 and Mrs Barker in Reception who will work alongside Miss Carter.
