Parkland Post - Friday 12th September 2025

Welcome to the first Parkland Post of the new academic year and welcome back to what is going to be an amazing year!  As you will have seen, we have shared our brilliant Ofsted report which was published this week.  We are incredibly proud of the hard work and determination every single member of our school community has put in and that Parkland has been recognised as a haven for our community.  Next week, we are holding a Meet the Teacher event (see details below) so you can put a face to a name which will help us to continue to build good relationships with you, our families.

I have been so impressed with the way our children have settled back into academy life, they bound down the path each morning and their focus in lessons is wonderful to see.  Keep an eye on ClassDojo for photographs and stories about what your children are getting up to!

Meet the Teacher Event 17th September 5-6pm

Next week, we warmly invite you to our Meet the Teacher event from 5-6pm on Wednesday 17th September.  This is a chance for you to meet your child's new class teacher and have a look round their classroom, look at the work they have done so far and enjoy some refreshments with us.

Early Years Open Evening 1st October 3:30-6pm

Our Early Years team is excited to be able to invite you to our Early Years Open Evening on Wednesday 1st October from 3:30-6pm. There will be a welcome by Mrs Wierzbianski and Miss Carter and there will be an opportunity to see our gorgeous Early Years setting.  Bring your children along as there will be lots of activities for them to take part in.

Attendance Matters

Our whole school attendance has been low this week at 91.5% which falls short of our target of 96%.  Please make sure you send your children in even if they have a bellyache, headache or runny nose and we can monitor them in school and call you if we need to.  This means that your child is not missing out on their learning.  If you do need to report your child's absence, please call our Attendance Line on 07599657826 and speak to Miss Murray.

This week's attendance winners were Year 1 who won an extra playtime as they are above our target of 96% - well done!  The rest of the classes had the following attendance:

Thank you for your continued support, we really do appreciate it.  I loved seeing so many of you at our Celebration Assembly this morning and at the drop off and pick up times.  We hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you decide to do, the weather looks like it might be quite mixed but if you can, try and get out for some fresh air in between the rain showers!  I am going to visit my parents in Scarborough and Mrs Shirra is celebrating her husband's birthday. We will see you bright and early on Monday morning where our doors will open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am.
