Welcome to this week's Parkland Post!

I think it's fair to say that this week has been action packed!  It has felt like each day has flown by and each day, I have had the pleasure of pupils showing me their incredible work.  I've seen wonderful setting descriptions, poetry, maths calculations, beautiful examples of handwriting and art work.  It really makes my day to see examples of pupils' hard work.

We started the week with our Harvest singalong and we were joined by Marianne Clough, Community Priest from St John's Thorpe Edge who gave a wonderful address.  We sang a range of uplifting harvest songs and the children did themselves proud.  Thank you to everyone who came along to support us and for the donations you gave.  Thank you also to Marianne who made it all the more special.  Your donations have gone to St John's community food bank so we can help our local community.  Thank you.

We are now on holiday for one week - we return on Monday 3rd November at 8:40am.

Attendance Matters!

This week, our whole school attendance was 92.3% which is a long way from our target of 96%.  The half termly class reward was a tie between Years 3 and 6 so Miss Murray will reveal which class is the overall winner when lates have been taken into account.  This will be announced during assembly on the Monday we return.

We were thrilled with the number of 100% attendance certificates that we gave out in Celebration Assembly this morning - you are all amazing!
