Welcome to this week's Parkland Post!

It has been a great week at Parkland this week with lots of learning happening around the academy.  I've seen some brilliant maths lessons this week featuring concrete resources where our pupils have been able to clearly explain what they were doing and why.  I am so proud when I walk around the academy and see all the hard work from pupils and staff.  One particular highlight of my week was joining our Nursery class as they had a leaf walk around the grounds; something which was filled with awe and wonder!  Today, we marked World Mental Health Day with some mindfulness activities and opportunities to talk in classes.

Attendance Matters!

This week, our whole school attendance was 93.7% which is a long way from our target of 96%.  The attendance raffle went round again this afternoon and our pupils couldn't wait to find out who would get a prize!

One of the reasons for this is the number of pupils who are late in a morning which affects your child's smooth start to the academy day.  Next week, we will be giving out an early bird prize on a surprise day of the week - please make sure your child is in every day and on time.
