Welcome to this week's Parkland Post!

It has been a great week at Parkland this week with lots of learning happening around the academy!  I was blown away this morning with Year 2 achieving 98.8% attendance this week - well done to everyone who was in school every day and on time!  We had two further classes (Year 5 and 6) who almost achieved our target of 96% so they are going to have a really big push next week to see if they can smash this target.

I have also been impressed by the examples of work that have been brought to me this week by our pupils:  Year 6 wrote a VERY persuasive letter about their playtimes; Year 3 pupils brought examples of labelled flowers after they had dissected flowers in class and Year 2 impressed me with their knowledge of properties of materials when considering building a structure.  The care and attention to detail seen from all of these pupils gave me a huge boost!

Attendance Matters!

This week, our whole school attendance was 94.2% which is a long way from our target of 96%.  Miss Murray spun the attendance wheel each one child from every class came to pick a sweet treat - well done!

As I mentioned above, Year 2 won the class attendance prize with 98.8%. They spun the wheel and won a Movie Afternoon and because they were over 96%, they also won an extra playtime!  Superstars!
