Welcome to this week's Parkland Post!

What a fabulous week we have had at Parkland!  We have had two nativities this week performed by our Early Years and Key Stage 1 pupils and I think in all my years of watching performances, Whoopsie Daisy Angel is definitely my favourite!  The children sang beautifully and looked gorgeous throughout.  Our Year 2 children read their lines so well to tell the story of the first Christmas.

The fun continued with our Key Stage 2 Carol Concert on Wednesday afternoon which was delightful - they have been practising their singing for the last few weeks and it has really paid off.  I particularly loved the '12 Days of Christmas' flashmob!  Thank you to everyone who came to watch and take part in these events - we love you being part of our academy life!

Yesterday, we took part in the NSPCC Jumper Day to raise money for children in the UK and all around the world to stay safe, healthy and learning - and change their future for good.  I definitely need to up my game in the jumper department as there were so many fabulous designs; especially the sparkly ones!

Meet the Hatter!

Our Year 5 and 6 children had the opportunity to watch 'Meet the Hatter' a dance and multimedia show this afternoon at the Bradford Arts Centre.  It was a retelling of the iconic Hatter character from Lewis Caroll's 'Adventures in Wonderland'.  Thank you to the staff who accompanied our children on the visit.

The show integrated dance, storytelling, original music, digital projection, lighting and animation with a bit of a twist!  It took our children on a journey which explored how unlocking our potential and developing self-belief can lead to happiness.
