Welcome from Co-op Academy Parkland

Welcome to this week's brand-new style Parkland Post!  We have had an incredibly busy time this week with some extra visitors to our academy.  Our visitors managed to speak to lots of parents and reported that there were lots of positive comments - thank you for supporting our academy!    We have lots of exciting things happening next week - our Early Years Open Evening is taking place on Wednesday 1st October from 3:30-6pm and we will be having a sponsored circuit training event on Thursday 2nd October from 1-3pm where we will have a visit from an athlete who will lead the event and will hold a Q&A assembly at the end of the day.

Their first job was to set up the Zones of Regulation baskets which each class will have in their Regulation Stations.  The baskets contain books, activities and items which will help our pupils regulate when they need to.  The Ambassadors also introduced this during an assembly for the whole school - we are so proud of you!

One of the things we will be doing next week is sending out a questionnaire to find out what you would like from us.  For example: would you be interested in some adult learning courses in school?  Wellbeing sessions for parents and carers?  Informal chatty cafes?  There will be the chance for you to add your own ideas and we would love to hear what you would like to access.

Fabien Robinson - Show you care

Showing such great passion in our history and working like a historian, looking at sources and deciding on their validity is a great skill to have, and you did some real high quality critical thinking.

And finally...

We hope you have a brilliant weekend whatever you decide to get up to.  The weather says a mixture of light rain and sunshine so there will be times where you can dodge the showers!  I am going out for brunch with my daughter this weekend and relaxing on Sunday.  Mrs Shirra will be spending time in the Cotswolds celebrating her nephew's birthday.  Don't forget, if your child takes part in anything that you want to share, you can send photos via ClassDojo explaining what they have been doing as we love to hear about their activities outside of school.  We will see you all bright and early on Monday morning where our doors will open at 8:40am ready for another week of learning to begin at 8:45am.
