Parkland Post - Friday 7th March 2025

Welcome to this week's Parkland Post and boy has it been another busy week!  We began the week opening our new Early Years provision for our children.  The children's faces were full of awe and wonder as they explored their new surroundings.  Thank you to our amazing staff who worked throughout the weekend to set everything up so it was ready for Monday morning - you really do embody the Co-op Ways of Being.

Attendance Matters

This week, our whole school attendance was higher than last week at 93%.  Next week, let's try and hit our target of 96% - I really do believe that we can do it!  The weather has certainly helped to put a smile on everyone's faces as they arrived at school each day.  There were three classes who were above 96% this week which means they won an extra playtime.  Year 5 were our overall attendance winners with 98.3% and they won another playtime on our Attendance Wheel and were able to put 3 stars on our whole school attendance drive.

ClassDojo Shop

On Monday, we will be opening the Dojo Shop where each child will come and spend their Dojo points so will be bringing home a prize to celebrate their amazing behaviour.  Remember - you have to be in it to win it!

Comic Relief's 40th Birthday!

On Friday 21st March, we will be celebrating Red Nose Day as they celebrate their 40th birthday.  Wear something funny for money and we will try and raise as much as we can for some amazing charities.  In the afternoon, we will be holding our very own Parkland's Got Talent so get your thinking caps on to decide if you would like to take part and what you will be doing: singing, poetry, performing a rap, magic act etc - be as creative as you like!

And finally...

We hope you have a super weekend whatever you decide to do.  The weather should be warm and hopefully the sun will make an appearance.  I am going to be having my nails done and will be visiting my auntie, Mr Watson will be relaxing, Mrs Shirra will be going for a lovely walk with family and Ms Pascoe will be getting the pizza oven out!  Whatever you decide to do, we hope you have a lovely time and we will see you bright and early on Monday morning where our doors will open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am.
