Parkland Post - Friday 6th June 2025

Welcome to this week's very soggy Parkland Post!  The rain hasn't dampened our spirits at Parkland and our Celebration Assembly was full of big smiles as each of the children won their awards.  It was lovely to see so many parents and carers joining us too; we love being able to share your child's successes with you.  This half term is always a really busy one so do remember to keep checking our Key Dates document so you can see when our events are happening.

Attendance Really Does Matter - Please help with this!

I'm normally quite a positive person when it comes to our improvements with attendance but I'm writing to you all today to ask for your help.  Attendance has taken a really big dip this week which means that some children are missing out on vital learning.  I know other schools in the local area have had a two week May holiday but we were back ready to launch the new half term on Monday.  It is really important that you get your children into school so they can have a consistent approach to their education.

So, with that in mind, I am asking for your help next week.  I would like us all to have a big push on attendance next week as our whole school figure was only 88.2% this week which is incredibly disappointing.  We have launched the new half term attendance class reward and every time your child completes a full week and is on time, they will have a raffle ticket entered into our prize draw to win a £50 Just Eat gift card.  Remember, you have to be in it to win it!

Nursery and Reception Trip to Harlow Carr

On Tuesday, our children in Nursery and Reception had a fantastic time at Harlow Carr Gardens near Harrogate.  They explored the gardens, woods and treehouse.  They were looking at colours, shapes and textures and went on a sensory walk.  They also had a fun time looking out for birds, insects, food and the 3 Bears in the woods.  Thank you to all of our staff for making sure this was such an enjoyable trip!

Transition Day - 2nd July

It is our whole school Transition Day on the 2nd July.  Children will come to school at the normal time, have the register taken and will then go to their new class to meet their teacher.  Details of the staff for each class will be shared with you all nearer the time.

And finally...

I hope you have a super weekend, whatever you decide to do.  The weather looks to be rainy again tomorrow and then back to some sunny weather on Sunday.  I am going to have my hair done and can't wait for a bit of pampering, Ms Pascoe is having a chilled weekend at home, Mr Watson is going to a 30th birthday party and Mrs Shirra is going out for lunch with her sister.  We will see you all bright and early on Monday morning when our doors will open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am.
