Parkland Post - Friday 16th May 2025

Welcome to this week's super sunny Parkland Post! I have to start by saying how proud I am of our Year 6 pupils this week. They have shown such resilience and have worked their socks off as they completed their SATS - they had a great time at our SATs Breakfast Club and had the chance to relax and chat with their friends and staff before tackling their papers. They have all shown a mature attitude and definitely embody all of our Ways of Being. They enjoyed a pizza treat yesterday afternoon to celebrate completing the tests! Next week, our Year 2 pupils will be taking their SATs and Miss Walker will be getting them focused so they can show off just how much they have learnt this year so far - good luck to all of the Year 2s!
Attendance Matters
This week, our whole school attendance was 91.4% which is lower than last week - we really do need to work on this for next week as lots of essential learning is missed when children are not in school. The winning class this week was Year 3 with 98.3% which means they get an extra playtime and they won a new classroom book for their class library and 3 stickers on our attendance board. I wonder which class will have the end of half term attendance reward? Remember, you have to be in it to win it!
Key Dates
Our key dates for the rest of the academic year are here for you to look at. If any updates are made, we will let you know. We can't wait to welcome you to our academy for each of the events.

End of half term
A reminder that we will break up next Friday for half term. We return on Monday 2nd June for our last half term of the year - where has the time gone?
Building work
The building work for Early Years is still carrying on next week so Nursery and Reception will need to arrive and be collected from the main office. I promise you it will be worth the wait! Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
And finally...
We hope you have a splendid weekend, whatever you decide to do. The weather looks like it is going to be gorgeous so I think I might have a BBQ with my daughter, Mr Watson is going to Leeds this weekend, Ms Pascoe is going to watch her boys play football and Mrs Shirra is going out for a friend's birthday. We will see you bright and early on Monday morning for our final week of summer 1 - our doors open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am. Let's work on attendance and finish on a high!
