How to make a complaint

The Co-op Academies Trust Complaints Policy outlines a three-stage procedure designed to resolve concerns and complaints efficiently:

  • Stage One (Resolution at a Local Level): Concerns are raised directly with the individual academy to seek an informal resolution through discussions or meetings, typically within 20 school working days.
  • Stage Two (Investigation by a Nominated Individual): If unresolved at Stage One, the complainant submits a written request to the Governance Team for a formal investigation, carried out by a designated investigator who provides a written response with findings and proposed actions.
  • Stage Three (Resolution via Complaints Panel Meeting): If still dissatisfied, the complainant can request a formal hearing before an independent three-person panel, which considers evidence from both parties and issues a final written decision.
