Parkland Post - Friday 4th July 2025

Welcome to this week's Parkland Post in what has been another incredibly busy week!  We are hurtling towards the summer holidays and we have lots of events coming up over the next two weeks so please remember to look at our Key Events page on our website to stay up to date.  I have been fortunate to be able to listen to our Year 6 cast of High School Musical which is going to be performed next week.  The quality of singing, acting and dancing is just amazing and I have had the songs going round in my head all week long!

Attendance Matters

This week, our whole school attendance has been slightly higher again this week at 92.3% which is creeping in the right direction - let's keep it going and try for 96% or above next week.  The class attendance can be seen below:

As you can see, we have two winning classes this week who both won a spin on our Attendance Wheel and were able to put 3 stars on our Attendance Board in the hall.  Don't forget that every child who is in every day and on time this week has a raffle ticket put into a draw to win our £50 Just Eat voucher.

Y6 Visit to London

Year 6 had the most amazing time on their visit to London.  They travelled there on the train and were fortunate enough to go into the Houses of Parliament, go on the London Eye and have a walk round the South Bank to see the London landmarks.  After a very long day, they enjoyed pizza before getting back on the train home.  Thank you to all of the staff who accompanied our children on the visit.

Transition Day

Our Transition Day on Wednesday was a huge success with our pupils being able to meet their new teachers (Years 3 and 6 will have their transition morning repeated due to illness).  They all came into the hall with an excited smile on their faces and enjoyed their time getting to know their new teachers.

High School Musical

High School Musical Performances are taking place on Tuesday 8th July at 2pm and 5:30pm - we can't wait to see everybody as our Year 6 children have been working so hard!

And finally...

We hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you decide to get up to.  The weather looks quite changeable but it's nothing we haven't been used to this week!  I am going to be doing a spot of gardening, Mr Watson is finalising a new bathroom, Mrs Shirra is going to an awards ceremony for her daugher and Ms Pascoe will be seeing friends who are visiting from Australia.  We will see you bright and early on Monday morning where our doors will open at 8:40am ready for learning to begin at 8:45am.
